Scalable Display Expands Software License Agreement With NEC Display Solutions

Success of "Projector Stacking" Leads to Market Expansion of NP Installation Series Projectors
06/07/2010

Scalable Display Technologies, the leader in calibration software for projector-based displays, is pleased to announce that NEC Display Solutions Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of NEC Corporation of Japan, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to expand its existing OEM license. The MOU calls for the expansion of the lumen and resolution of projectors plus additional license of Scalable Display's customized version of its patented multi-projector alignment software.

The software solution provided to NEC Display by Scalable enables up to four of the NEC-DS NP Installation Series (NP3250, NP3250W, NP2250 and NP1250) projectors to be stacked or superimposed with pixel-perfect precision. The Scalable software has been added to NEC Display's comprehensive suite of projector management applications.

"Our customers have been very pleased with the combination of Scalable's software and our NP Installation Series projectors," said Koichi Ara, Senior Manager, Display Solution Business Promotion Division at NEC. "The software solution is a cost-effective way to achieve brightness in the 15,000-to-20,000-lumen range, while maintaining a short-throw length and low-power requirement. We are pleased to now offer high-resolution and lumen solutions."

Packed with power and a full lineup of features, the NP Installation Series models can take on the most demanding integration projects in corporate board.html.htmlrooms, education lecture halls and public display environments. Several NP Installation Series projectors can be seen at the InfoComm 2010 Conference (NEC Display Solutions Booth N903) from June 9-11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

"We are happy with our successful partnership with NEC and the uptake of our software with the NP Series Projectors," said Rajeev Surati, president of Scalable Display Technologies, Inc. "The increase in brightness and resolution will help to expand the market overall."
