Scalable Display Announces Product Compatibility with AMD FirePro™ Professional Graphics at IBC 2013
Scalable Display announces product integration with AMD (NYSE: AMD) to bring automatic camera based multi projector blending AMD FirePro™ professional graphics.
The ScalableDesktop integration with AMD FirePro graphics enables large seamless display of 4K UltraHD video and 3D content creations workflows, with OpenCL™ and SDI images. The explosion of high resolution content has met with a display bottleneck and Scalable addresses this problem by blending multiple projectors together. Additionally, the emergence of “big data” is driving the need for “big displays” and the combined solution is an ideal solution to address the market need.
“The AMD FirePro W-series professional graphics cards are an ideal fit with Scalable Display’s software,” said David Cummings, senior director and general manager, Professional Graphics at AMD. “The new Display Output Post-Processing (DOPP) API for AMD FirePro provides Scalable with application level access to the frame buffer, before content reaches the display engine. AMD has empowered Scalable to apply the warp and blend right on the card, reducing the requirement for external warping boxes. AMD Eyefinity Technology with up to six outputs can drive six warped and blended projectors for ‘Big Data’ display, digital signage and other applications.”
“This announcement is very exciting for Scalable. The timing is perfect as the market for ‘scalable definition’ displays has now come of age,” said Andrew W. Jamison, CEO of Scalable Display Technologies. “The market for virtual and augmented reality CAVES, simulation and immersive displays growing quickly and the AMD FirePro technology will accelerate that growth.”
ScalableDesktop with AMD FirePro will be on display at IBC 2013 from September 13-17 at the RAI, Hall 7, booth #H35.
